The Holy Quran is read with Tajweed. Tajweed are a set of basic rules that revelate how to recite the Quran in Arabic. Reading is not the only thing you need to do. It is important for you to find out the actual meaning of the verse of Surah that you are reciting. You should also seek guidance from the Holy Prophet’s life to deeply understand the Holy Verses of the Quran.

What Is The Importance Of Reading The Quran In Ramadan?

The Holy Quran holds importance in a number of ways. From worldly to spiritual benefits, the Holy Quran is helpful in anything. If you are looking to find a solution to any problem, you should read the Quran, as the Quran has the solution to all your problems. Besides, the Holy Quran will also help you by easing your heart. But, to give you more idea, here are some of the reasons why reading the Holy Quran in Ramadan is important.

1. Reward For Every Letter That You Recite

Yes! You read it correctly, you will be paid for each letter repeated from the Quran’s verses, not just one surah, ayat, or phrase.

Sayyidatina Aishah r.a reported:

مَن قَرَأَ حَرْفًا مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَلَهُ بِهِ حَسَنَةٌ وَالْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا لاَ أَقُولُ الم حَرْفٌ وَلَكِنْ أَلِفٌ حَرْفٌ وَلاَمٌ حَرْفٌ وَمِيمٌ حَرْفٌ ‏

Whoever recites a letter from Allah’s Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter

(Sunan At-Tirmizi)

2. The Quran Will Help By Calming The Soul

Remembrance includes reciting the Quran (zikir). It is also a variation on Ibadah. When you do zikir, you will get inner serenity and tranquility, as stated in the Quran:

الَّذينَ آمَنوا وَتَطمَئِنُّ قُلوبُهُم بِذِكرِ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلا بِذِكرِ اللَّهِ تَطمَئِنُّ القُلوبُ

“Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah, hearts are assured”

(Surah Ar-Ra’d, 13:28)

3. You Will Be Rewarded If You Stutter

You stammer and can’t say it correctly? No issue. You will also get rewarded for it!

The language of the Quran in Arabic.

The Arabic language is a strange language for some of us. As a novice, you may stammer and find it difficult to read it smoothly. It’s frustrating enough not understanding what you’re reading; now you have to practice reading in other languages and letters.

But don’t worry, Allah SWT is All-Knowing and Most Merciful. He will reward you twice for the hard work of trying to read the verses of the Quran!

Sayidatina Aishah (r.a.) reported:

الذي يقرأ القرآن وهو ماهر به مع السفرة الكرام البررة، والذي يقرأ القرآن ويتتعتع فيه وهو عليه شاق له أجران‏

“The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur’an will be with the honorable and obedient scribes (angels), and he who recites the Qur’an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have two rewards.”

(Sahih Al-Bukhari & Muslim)

4. Quran Guides

As humans, we are continuously in need of someone to talk to and share our troubles with. While performing dua is one way to communicate with Allah, you can also get answers through reading the Quran. It is one of the methods by which Allah interacts with us. He handed down instructions for us 1400 years ago! Allah SWT mentions in a handful of Surahs of the Quran:

كِتابٌ أَنزَلناهُ إِلَيكَ لِتُخرِجَ النّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُماتِ إِلَى النّورِ

“A Book We have sent down to you so that you may bring forth mankind from the darkness into the light..”.

(Surah Ibrahim, 14:1)
